Not an artist, but my answer to your question is running. I started running in 2021 at age 38 and got hooked right away. Coming out of (or still in) Covid times, my interest piqued with the realization that I could have alone time away from my two lovely small children, so I responded to the email and joined the run club. I wish I had started much younger. It's like therapy and allows me to connect with other people, new friends and old, old and young. :)

I love this. I write about origins as if they don’t still happen as we get older, but they most certainly do. It’s great that you’ve found a community. I always liked running for the meditative quality but not for how sore I would get. Maybe I should give it another shot.

I read this when you originally wrote it, but didn't respond. Running actually made me want to get stronger to avoid injury, so that was another benefit. More strength training etc. It's like other sports, if you don't do it often, it's hard and you get sore. If you do it 2-3x a week, you're good. I run on some Monday nights with about 80-100 people in a run club. It's a VIBE. So much energy and fun running with a group, albeit spread out and I'm at the back. lol.

I first started writing in my journal in 1995 when I was bored in class. It’s still my go-to coping mechanism in boring all staff meetings 😋

Are you bringing the new camera to SF?

That doesn’t shock me. And you’ve been consistent. Photography has always been my consistency. I have some very old photos of mine and continue to treat it like breathing.

The camera will stay in Seattle. I might just bring a point and shoot film camera and my iPhone.
